Carlo Saverio Iorio: Senior Researcher at Université libre de Bruxelles – Belgium and
Principal Investigator at the Microgravity Research Centre of the same University. He
is adjunct professor at the York University in Toronto. Carlo coordinates three
international networks on human space exploration on behalf of ESA, the European
Space Agency. He has coordinated several parabolic flight campaigns as well as
Sounding Rockets and ISS experiments; He has three on-going Space projects in
collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Science. He is an advisor for the European
Commission – General Directorate for Defence, Industry, and Space. He has been
recently awarded the title of Space Champion of the Graphene Flagship with the role
of promoting the industrial exploitation of innovative materials in Space. He has been
reviewer and panellist of the European Commission for the Research Framework
Programme 7, Horizon 2020, and Horizon Europe. He was the technical and scientific
director of a business incubator devoted to the creation of high-tech start-ups. At
present, he is also the CEO of Yoursciencebc LTD a UK-based company offering
consulting services for international Space businesses.
