Dr. Sameera Almulla earned her B. Sc. degree from the University of Sharjah as a Computer Engineer. Dr. Almulla earned her M. Sc. degree in Digital forensics from Khalifa University of Science and Technology with distinction. In 2017, she received her Ph. D. in Engineering for her research in “Digital forensics of Cloud Computing.”
During her study, she joined Centre for Doctoral Training in Cyber Security at the Royal Holloway University of London. Dr. Almulla’s research interests lie in the area of digital forensics, information security, lawful interception, IoT security, cloud security, and cyber threat intelligence. Dr. Almulla’s research findings were awarded as the best research in both national and international venues.
In 2018, Dr. Almulla worked as Research Assistant Professor at the University of Dubai, leading research in cyber threat intelligence. Also, Dr. Almulla played a vital role in the International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) as a vice-chair for both the UAE Signal Processing Society and UAE Women in Engineering Society. In 2018, she won Sheikh Rashid Scientific Excellence award, this award is one of the most prestigious awards in UAE. Besides that, Dr. Almulla won several research grants and awards such as “Secure Resource Management in Cloud Computing to Smart Grid”, “Microsoft Azure Research Award”, “Young Emirati Postgraduate Research Students Mobility Award” and “The First Place in Du Cyber Security Competition.”
Currently, Dr. Almulla appointed as Director of Certificate Equivalency Department and Deputy – Director of Academic Planning Department at UAE Ministry of Education.
