Mirza Al Sayegh was born in Dubai, UAE, attended private tuition at his father’s school in the early days and in 1957 he attended the first UAE Government School in Dubai for his primary education years.
After completing his secondary education at Dubai Secondary School, in 1967 Mirza was enrolled in the University of Jordan, and graduated with a BA in Business Administration in 1971.
In 1971, Mirza joined a diplomatic course in preparation for the Federal announcement, as candidate for the UAE overseas diplomatic corps. He was then appointed as Third Secretary and Head of Information and Translation Section, Political Dept., Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abu Dhabi.
In 1973, Mirza was elected as Third Secretary, and subsequently First Secretary, at the UAE Embassy in New Delhi, India. In 1974 he became Head of UAE Consular Mission in Bombay, India, as a Counsellor.
During his stay in India, Mirza was enrolled at the University of Delhi to study a Masters Degree in Political Science.
In 1976, Mirza was appointed as Counsellor and Minister Plenipotentiary (Charge d’affairs) UAE Embassy, London. In 1979 he represented the UAE on the Political Committee of the United National General Assembly session.
In 1980, he spent two years studying for a Masters Degree in International Relations from the University of Southern California (UK Programme) London.
In 1983, Mirza took charge of investment affairs of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Government of Dubai. He has been appointed to the Board, as Chairman or Deputy Chairman, of numerous companies both in UAE and overseas. These companies under his charge cover a wide spectrum of commercial and charitable organisations.
